Host Hotel Information
This year's host hotel is the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. The special discounted rates are available until Friday, September 15, or until the room block is sold out. The rates range from $199-$249. If you register for the conference under the “shared or individual room” rates but are unable to secure hotel reservations at Grand Hyatt San Antonio, you will be invoiced for the conference registration difference. We ask that if you have any trouble making hotel reservations, please contact the AAPA office before making reservations elsewhere.
Set amidst a blend of histories and a modern city, our urban retreat has a premier location on the San Antonio River Walk and is within walking distance of the Alamodome, Tower of The Americas and The Alamo. We encourage you to make your hotel reservation early.
A detailed confirmation will automatically be emailed to you once your registration has been submitted. You may choose to pay by credit card when registering or pay by check from the invoice that is generated. Full payment is required by August 25. The Cancellation Policy will be enforced once your registration is submitted (with or without payment). If you have any questions, contact the Central Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
• Full Conference: Fee includes access to all lectures, poster sessions, exhibitor session and product demos, and credits awarded based on attendance requirements. Lunch and dinner for the week are not included. Registrants have the ability to earn up to 28 PACE credits by attending 19 lectures, a workshop, and three poster sessions! Register by August 15 for the best available rate!
Full conference (individual room) = individual room booked at the hotel. Not sharing with another registered conference attendee.
Full conference (shared room) = room booked at the hotel shared by one or more registered conference attendees.
• Daily Attendance: Fee includes access to lectures offered on the day(s) registered, breakfast and coffee break, social events (if applicable), and PACE credits based on attendance requirements for the day(s) registered. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Continuing Education Credits
The AAPA is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS PACETM Program. To be eligible to receive continuing education credit, you must have passed the ASCP BOC exam prior to this conference AND you must have your name badge scanned upon entering EACH lecture. You must be scanned within the first 10 minutes of the start of the lecture or workshop to receive credit. Scanning is also required at each poster session along with your completed quiz submission.
An additional $50 fee will apply to ALL adjustments made to your conference registration after it has been received. This applies to daily registration changes and optional activity cancellations/transfers, unless otherwise noted in the activity description. As space permits, you may add events to your registration at no additional charge.
Written notice to cancel must be received via fax, mail, or email by August 25, 2017, to receive an 80% refund. No refunds will be given after August 25. For cancellations due to illness after August 25, 2017, a refund of 80% will be given with the submission of a physician's note. If the AAPA cannot hold the conference due to acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, or curtailment of transportation or other emergencies making it inadvisable, illegal, or impossible to provide the facilities or to hold the meeting, each prepaid registrant will receive a copy of conference handouts and any other materials that would have been distributed. Fixed conference expenses will be paid from the pre-registration funds. Remaining funds will be refunded to pre-registrants. AAPA is not responsible for any other costs incurred by pre-registrants in connection with the conference.
All activities are business casual (no shorts, t-shirts, or jeans). Evening attire is dressy casual (again no shorts, t-shirts, or jeans), except for sporting and outdoor optional activities.
Expect daytime temperatures in the upper 80s and evening temperatures in the 70s.
