Host Hotel Information

This year's host hotel is The Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel.

Registration Discount:

If you book your stay at The Mills House, you are eligible to receive a $150 discount on your meeting registration. Local PAs within a 60 mile radius of the hotel, who are traveling to the meeting daily from their homes, are also eligible for the $150 hotel discount. To take advantage of the hotel discount, enter SPRING15 in the payment screen.

Hotel Reservations:

We encourage you to make your hotel reservations early as we anticipate the hotel room block selling out quickly.To book your reservation click here or contact The Mills House directly at 800-874-9600 and mention the reservation is for the AAPA Meeting.  
 

Transportation

There is a Ground Transportation Booth in the baggage claim area. Attendees can go there upon arrival for additional direction and/or to secure a taxi or shuttle. 

Taxis and shuttles from the airport operate from 5 am until 30 minutes after the last arriving flight of the day, typically around 12:30 am. Taxi and shuttle rides are available in front of the terminal building, outside of baggage claim. Taxis are dispatched upon demand of the passenger or group to one specific destination.
 
All taxi and shuttle services accept MasterCard, American Express, VISA and Discover credit cards. 

 
Taxi:  $35.00 from Airport to The Mills House

Shuttle: The shuttle rate for downtown Charleston is $14 per passenger and departs within 15 minutes. The shuttle is a shared ride and may make several stops, depending on the number of passengers. 
The fixed rate for the airport vicinity is $10.50 per passenger, not to exceed $31.50 per trip.
No charge for babes-in-arms.

NOTE:  All rates listed are subject to change and are estimates. Please check rates posted at the entrance to each area before entering.

Public Transit: If you don't mind taking luggage on a bus, Charleston's public transportation service, CARTA, offers an express bus (NASH Express Rt. 4)  from the airport to the Charleston Visitors Center downtown, which is slightly less than a mile north of the Mills House. It's $3, andis approximately a 21 minute ride. From the Visitors Center there a couple of bus routes that would take you to the Mills House.

Parking: 

The Mills House does not own its own parking garage. They do offer valet parking at a rate of $29 per day. There is parking available in the Charleston County parking garage, which is located directly behind the hotel, at a daily rate of $25 per day.
 

Continuing Education Credits

The AAPA is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS PACETM Program. To be eligible to receive continuing education credit, you must have passed the ASCP BOC exam prior to this meeting. To receive credit, you must arrive and sign-in within the first 10 minutes of the start of each and every lecture.

The maximum number of CME credits available at our 2015 Spring Meeting is fifteen (15).
 

Cancellation Policy

Written notice to cancel must be received via fax, mail, or email by February 1, 2015, to receive an 80% refund. No refunds will be given after February 1. If the AAPA cannot hold this meeting due to acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, or curtailment of transportation or other emergencies making it inadvisable, illegal, or impossible to provide the facilities or to hold the meeting, each prepaid registrant will receive meeting materials electronically. Fixed meeting expenses will be paid from the pre-registration funds. Any remaining funds will be refunded to pre-registrants. The AAPA is not responsible for any other costs incurred by pre-registrants in connection with this meeting.

Attire & Weather

All activities are business casual (no shorts, t-shirts, or jeans). 
Expect daytime temperatures in the mid 60s and evening temperatures in the low 50s.
