AAPA 2019 BOT Election Update

Dear AAPA Member,

As a reminder, the election for the three seats available for the 2019-2021 term on the Board of Trustees has been moved from July to September this year.  The election was moved in an effort to increase member participation.  Over the last few years, we have had trouble reaching the required quorum (25% of members).  By moving the election to the month of the conference, we hope to continue to capture participation through our online voting, and also offer the opportunity for those who attend the Fall Conference to vote in-person.  Therefore, voting will be open the entire month of September.

As in the past, Fellow members will receive an email link to vote via SurveyMonkey.  If you do not submit a vote online, reminders will be sent leading to the final cutoff.  For those attending the conference, you will have the option to vote online or in-person at the conference.  Conference onsite voting will be reconciled against SurveyMonkey votes to verify only one vote per Fellow member, with SurveyMonkey votes taking priority in a double vote situation.

Nominations were open during the month of March.  The Nominations Subcommittee thoroughly vetted the potential candidates, and ultimately recommended a slate of four candidates for the three available positions.  Watch your inbox as we release profiles on each of the candidates – John Eckman, Charlene Gettings, Jennifer Perez, and Roseann Vitale – over the coming days.

Sincerely,

Michelle L. Sok, CAE
