2020 Issue 2 of THE CUTTING EDGE is Now Available!
Dear AAPA Member,
Although this past quarter was unlike any we have previously experienced, our journal team has worked diligently through these difficult times to present
to you the latest issue of THE CUTTING EDGE.
You will notice that this journal was designed as our pre-conference issue, with references to the Annual Conference in Fort Lauderdale throughout. Due to printing deadlines, the content reflects us being cautiously optimistic that we will hold an in-person conference, which now, at the time of release, seems unlikely. Read the latest update from Fall Conference Chair, Janelle Fabian, PA(ASCP)CM, on page 21. Of course, we will continue to keep you informed as further details are available.
Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, this issue came together and is packed with content as always. This journal features three manuscripts (two with accompanying CE quizzes), including one of this year's Fellow Travel Grant winning manuscripts, along with the cover article, which will provide an ethics credit, and a case report by staff writer Karah Jones, MS, PA(ASCP)CM.
Be sure to check out insights from the latest membership and salary survey, along with a fascinating brief history of the pathologists' assistant profession. Speaking of the profession, don't miss the article from fellow member Kristina Grieco, MS, PA(ASCP)CM, as she discusses how she's working to expand the PA role.
Rounding out the issue are a recap of PA Day, the BOT Chair's Report, and a book review of The Gene.
You can access the online, interactive version of this issue now by clicking on the journal cover image found here or by visiting the Publications page found under the Member Community area of www.pathassist.org.
If you have opted to receive the journal via postal mail, a copy of your journal is on its way to your mailbox. You can change your preferred delivery method by accessing your member profile.
We hope everyone is staying safe.
Beth Felicelli, PA(ASCP)CM
Editor-in-Chief of The Cutting Edge
