Peer-Reviewed Article Submission
Each peer-reviewed article published in The Cutting Edge is eligible for the Journal Award. The top three article authors will receive cash prizes. Judging is completed by members of the editorial board.
- 1st place – $1,000
- 2nd place – $750
- 3rd place – $500
Having a peer-reviewed article published also earns you 5 CMP points! Please note these credits are not PACE approved, and therefore will not automatically appear in your Online CME Journal. However, these credits are ASCP approved and will count toward certification maintenance.
Journal submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Have you come across an exceptional specimen? Consider entering it in the AAPA Annual Photo Contest! Winning pictures will be shared with AAPA members and receive one-year free membership or the equivalent in “AAPA Bucks”. Open to all Fellow, Associate, and Student members.

Lecture & Workshop Speakers
Speakers are always needed to give one hour lectures (minimum of 50 minutes and maximum of 60 minutes) to attendees at our meetings and conferences.

Travel Grant & Scholarship Submission Forms
Compete for your chance to win a travel grant to attend an AAPA Spring Meeting, Summer Meeting, or Annual Conference. There are four travel grants available to Fellow members annually and one travel grant available to 2nd year non-Delegate Student members annually. Additionally, there is a student general educational scholarship available to all 2nd year students. Every submission is peer-reviewed, therefore, if awarded, it comes with a published peer-reviewed manuscript that can be added to your resume.
